A Religion called ‘Humanity’

 

Trust me I’m fed up of all the hate comments and deliberately run false propaganda of some people in order to protect/save their religion, particularly led by them for showing that their religion is much better than the rest of the religions in the world.

There are around 4200 religions in this entire world out of which 18 are popularly practiced. In India alone, there are about 9-10 religions, not only these, these are further bifurcated into many sects making the count reach to thousands. In order to maintain peace in our country and also to prove that we give equal importance to all the religions, the word ‘secular’ was added in the preamble to the Constitution of India in it’s 42^nd amendment in the year 1976. But still, there are some people in our society which tend to establish that their religion is the supreme one and they could harm other people and their rights in order to prove their point.

We often come across certain hate post and videos on social media which are provocating, which tends to generate immense hate for the people of other community. Playing the victim card, they try to catch the attention of the people, and people end up fighting with each other on the comment section of such posts. This trend is catching up the speed of light especially from the past 5-6 years. I don’t know who has started it but one thing I certainly know that these sort of activities definitely cause a huge blow to atleast my mental peace.

During these times, when our country is suffering from pandemic to floods to locust attacks and recently cyclonic storms in most parts of India, I feel shattered when I see these hate posts. A virus won’t see if you belong to a particular religion, it just attacks you. Neither a cyclone would care nor would floods care if you’re a part of a major religion or a minor, they will obviously cause damage to the entire population itself. Those self styled Godmen or their agents or those who are promoting a particular propaganda, they are not going to come to your place and save you from the horrendous situations, only a human can help a human being and at that time, no one is going to care about the religion of the person who is going to help them.

 

 Instead of helping others or posting positive news amongst these horrible times, I feel pity for the people who support the ones who post/make such videos. I came across a hate spreading video which was shared by one highly educated person I know. It broke my heart.

I couldn’t fathom the fact that people who are educated, who know how this world functions, who knows people post certain content for attention and spreading hate, they’re further appreciating and helping them by sharing their content. It broke my heart. I couldn’t gather if at any point of time in my school or college I was taught to spread hate for the people of other community. So, it’s not the fault of education I believe.

 

 

I feel people who don’t follow any religion, those who are atheist are better than the ones who are ready to hurt and kill people of other community in the name of honoring their religion. Atleast the atheist follow a religion of humanity, which should be the most followed religion in the world.

From the eighteen most popular religions in the world, none taught us to spread hate, kill each other, defame others’ community and cause disruptions in our society. Every religion was started in order to bring peace, love and internal satisfaction to the people. It kept on removing all the bad vices and habits of people and tried to give humans a glimpse of a better live. It provided us internal energy to survive the hardships of the world by keeping faith in our God.

But we humans in order to establish our own supremacy have forgotten the teachings of our religion and are now focusing to defame each others’ community. Do you really think your God would like if you unnecessarily hurt or cause harm to someone else just because of your little ritual/practice/belives/tradition?

 The thing in India is that here, religion is the most important and burning issue, which is obviously most emotionally connected to a person as well. So, most of the politicians take advantage of this fact and they manipulate people emotionally. Basically, they collect their vote banks. I have seen myself, if you take logic and religion, people would without a blink of an eye choose religion. It’s not our fault, we have been designed and programmed in such a way only.

At the end, I’d just say that life after such natural/ man-made calamity would be very difficult for everyone. People are already suffering a lot, there’s no food, people are dying of hunger/poverty. So, if you can’t help someone in their hard times or you can’t be the Sonu Sood in someone’s life, the least you could do for our society is NOT TO SPREAD HATE for each others’ communities/religion. That would be the biggest help ever!
